چکیده

The present paper aims to identify the distribution of Microsatellite markers (SSRs)/Single Nucleotide Polymor-phism (SNPs) as resource tools for the analysis of interspecies hypervariability in Prosopis spp. Microsatellites are ubiquitously repeated extension of 1-5 bp motif extended throughout the genome. The dbEST division of Genbank contains 1467 ESTs of Prosopis juliflora which have been utilized for the development of genic microsatellite markers (SSRs). Locally installed assembling program was used for the cluster analysis of the EST. Analysis was performed on a Linux Cluster system. The analysis of the putative unigenes has been shown to have most abundant motif of A/T followed by dinucleotide AG/CT and trinucleotide repeat AAG/CTT. EST-derived SNPs are becoming the resources for the development of SNP markers. The relative rates of development of the high throughput computational methods for the detection of SNPs (Single Nucleotide Polymorphism) and small indels (insertion / deletion) has gained wide applications in the field of the molecular markers.

Background Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNPs) are considered as one of the underlying causes of male infertility. Proper sperm chromatin packaging which involves replacement of histones with protamines has profound effect on male fertility. Over 20 SNPs have been reported for the protamine 1 and 2. MaterialsAndMethods The aim of this study was to evaluate the frequency of two previously repo...

Allelic and Genotypic Distribution in Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) G.676A > G of Melanocortin-1 Receptor (MC1R) Gene in Indonesian Goat Breeds

The melanocortin-1 receptor (MC1R) gene has been investigated by many studies regarding the pigmentation variation in various species. In order to determine its allelic and genotypic distribution, we sequenced the goat MC1R gene from 78 individuals in ten populations (Gembrong, Senduro, Ettawa Grade, Boerawa, Boerka, Kosta, Samosir, Muara, Boer and Kacang). Direct sequencing m...

Evaluation of ten SNP Markers for Human Identification and Paternity Analysis in Persian Population

Background: DNA markers are inevitable tools of human identification in forensic science. Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) are one category of these markers which is concerned to use especially in the case of degraded DNA because of their short amplicons. Objectives: Detection of highly informative SNPs by the criteria is the essential step to devel...

In Silico Exploration of Cannabis sativa L. Genome for Simple Sequence Repeats (SSRs)

Simple sequence repeat (SSR) or microsatellite markers, are a valuable tool for several purposes such as evaluation of genetic diversity, fingerprinting, marker assisted selection, and breeding. Recent developments in sequencing technologies and bioinformatics analyses provide new opportunity to produce a high number of less costly SSRs. Here, we used for the first time a wholegenome shotgun se...
